BP Upstream

3D Oil & Gas Illustration for the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference

BP Upstream Graphics for Offshore Technology Conference 2012

Our studio was asked by the Emerging Science & Promotion team at BP to create a poster illustrating oil field technology in the near future. Our illustration presents various oilfield activities, processes, and geological configurations occuring in a single 3D cutaway view. The cylindrical shape of the cutaway is based on shapes easily identifiable in the oil and gas industry; the core sample and the water column. By cutting the cylinder into pie shape, we were able to maximize the use of space to illustrate the subsea pipline and the natural formations found at various depths within the Earth's strata.
